Similar to this thought we present to you a hero legislator from the Panagar constituency in Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh- “Sushil Kumar Tiwari” aka “Indu Bhaiya”. An ex BBC reporter- Vijay Kumar thought of surveying the area about the achievements of the local administration when certain things came floating to the surface. The locals said that it was in the year 2013 when the legislator first visited the area for his then election campaigning. He came across an elderly lady who was unable to see properly and since that meeting every time he visited the area he made sure to meet that elderly and other locals in person.
It was in the year 2016 when his long-term dream became a reality on the 12th day of January that year when he started “Netra Jyoti Rath” and personally bore all the expenses incurred. So far approximately 50 thousand people have been benefitted with the service of regular eye check up and approximately 2 thousand people have been treated under the services of expert ophthalmologists.
When we reached out to Sushil Kumar Tiwari Indu and asked him about this initiative he calmly responded that the gift of sight is very important for a human being, minus the eyesight the life falls into nothingness. When he was campaigning for the 2013 elections, the problem faced by the farmers due to inadequate eye check up facilities, made him uneasy and he decided that if he won he would first give a gift of vision as a token of gratitude to the people. He says that he is blessed that the people trusted him and he was able to fulfill their expectations.
