With IMP’s hallmark of high-quality production standards, the black-and-white short film will pay homage to the classic silent comedies of 1920's Hollywood. Although black and white film fell out of common usage decades ago, its use as an artistic choice continues to this day. In fact, in 2012, the film “The Artist” even won the Academy Award for best picture. The intent of this black and white silent film is to charm the audience because of its comedic value, the characterization of it actors, and because of the sly way, it plays with being silent and black and white. Not that it's entirely silent, of course; like all silent films were, it's accompanied by music.
The off-the-wall plot involves low-life drinking buddies who regularly get together to play cards. Steven Ciceron will play the role of Mr. Fitzgerald, a mild-mannered ninny, but a character that is also able to stand up for himself when push comes to shove. Mr. Ciceron is a two time CV Indie Film Award winner for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. He intends to bring his character to life as a cross between silent film stars Harold Lloyd and baby faced Stan Laurel. Mr. Ciceron pours his heart and creativity into every role. This film will offer Ciceron a new medium for his creativity. Ciceron states that it will be a challenge to get the meaning across to the audience with the intent on being silent. Ciceron referred to this opportunity with a famous quote saying” a picture is worth a thousand words”
Iconoclastic film-maker, Brother Andy, will write the storyline for “The Happiest of Hooligans”, Executive Produce, and Direct. Corey Chambers will serve as Producer. The film is expected to start shooting at the end of January 2019 in Palm Springs, California.
