Actress in horror film is smashing the festival circuit

Janine Gateland talks about the successes of ‘F***, Marry, Kill’ and the story behind the name…

Los Angeles, California Feb 4, 2019 (Issuewire.com)  - The film has been smashing the festival circuit around the world and its already won awards at Los Angeles Cinefest, Aab International Film Festival in India, Los Angeles Movie Awards, Fabulosis Short Film Night in London, Hollywood Screenings Film Festival, Best Independents Film Festival in Germany and Hollywood Verge Film Awards to name a few.

Janine never knew that the film she became involved in would become so successful.  F***, Marry, Kill is a horror story that is set in the Mohave desert.  Three sisters are traveling to their brother’s wedding, dressed as bridesmaids. A turn of events leads them to a crazy town where a psychotic, cult-like community kidnaps women and forces them to marry, procreate or be sacrificed.

“Little do the girls know, but the game they play on the car journey (which is called F***, Marry, Kill) would be their final destination.  The game is popular at office parties.  Howard Stern is no stranger to playing it on his radio show, which is where initially the idea originally came from.” Said Gateland.

Janine plays the lead role Tiffany Forbes who is one of the oldest of the three sisters.  Although the three sisters don’t get along too much, when things turn bad, Tiffany has to protect her sisters.  “It’s a very girl-powered film”, said Gateland.

Janine has been very busy with her career and it is all paying off.  Coming from a small town in the north of England, Janine can’t imagine doing anything else.

“Janine is a hardworking, incredibly dedicated actress who is always working diligently to get it right. When she is on set, she is always focused on her character and what is happening in the scene and how she can get to the truth of it. We were also working in incredibly difficult circumstances and she was always professional. We were shooting in the desert in August. 105-degree temperatures, literally a killer on the loose and swarmed by bugs and she was always present for the work.  Her dedication is unyielding. She stays focused on the work and she gets the work done. You need your actors to be focused and prepared and she was always ready.” Said, director Scott Donovan.

The film has more festivals coming up this year so keep a lookout for further success of this horror flick and Janine Gateland’s future work.
