Miami, Florida Apr 19, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Ageless Chic Magazine announced it has collaborated with Florida International University’s College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts to launch its first internship program with FIU journalism students. This is the first internship program for the magazine, which is more than an award-winning magazine but a social movement against ageism, empowering the 60 plus community helping redefine what seniors today are all about.
The students participating in the internship range from freshmen to seniors, as well as postgraduate students. For some of the students, this is their first internship and a learning experience in the field of publishing, journalism, and public relations. Ageless Chic Magazine FIU interns report, edit, fact-check, and copy-edit for print and online publications. They may sometimes interview celebrities or key figures in the community, attend press conferences and work the red carpet and community events—but for the most part, they do the un-glam but essential work of magazine.
FIU College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts reached out to Jenny Patrizia, Editor-In-Chief and founder of Ageless Chic Magazine, to host an internship program for their journalism students. “I was honored to have had the magazine considered as a platform and a form of a mentoring influence on students, especially students coming from a notable university as FIU. There are currently fourteen FIU students who are part of the Ageless Chic Magazine’s Internship program. They are extremely talented and professional individuals who have become advocates in helping spread the mission on which the magazine was founded upon- changing the negative social stigma in how seniors are portrayed today while helping relay the message that Fashion Doesn't Have an Expiration Date,” said Jenny Patrizia, Editor-in-Chief and founder, at Ageless Chic Magazine.
Jenny Patrizia was inspired to create the magazine after speaking with a well-styled senior who said her children did not agree with her style sense. Patrizia did not believe in this statement and saw this as an opportunity to help empower the 60 plus community with a voice and a channel to help celebrate their own unique style. Motivating them that once a certain age is reached not to retire but to re-fire and re-invent themselves instead.
