New York City, New York Aug 11, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Mandy (Dr. B) Brisebois is an award-winning caring and compassionate internist, palliative medicine specialist, symptom management expert, and certified Wellness and Executive Coach. She has led teams through the Covid 19 pandemic as the medical director of a 360-bed hospital in Edmonton, Canada, as well as the Associate Chief Medical Officer of Covenant Health. These experiences and the state of healthcare in 2022 had led Dr. Brisebois to switch focus to providing conflict coaching for physicians and their teams, helping practitioners and teams find success through conflict, and learn from these successes to create happier, more efficient, and more effective healthcare teams. She has extensive training in negotiation, mediation, equity, diversity, and inclusion, which is much needed in this arena.
In regards to her educational background, she earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biology from Queen’s University and received her medical degree from the University of Calgary in 1995. After attending the first year of residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, she returned to Canada to complete her residency in internal medicine, as well as completing a year of oncology training at the University of Alberta.
After experiencing multiple years of helping patients live with chronic illness, Dr. Brisebois returned to do a year of added competence in palliative care which was completed in 2012 in Edmonton. She is currently completing her Masters of International Health Leadership through McGill University. She will become a recognized mediator by January 2023, through the Justice Institute of British Columbia in Canada.
Distinguished as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), and of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), she has trained at multiple world-renowned organizations such as the Mayo Clinic, Berkeley, Oxford, London School of Economics, UBC, McGill, and the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and holds various certifications, including MBA Essentials Certificate, Executive Leadership Certificate, International Studies Certificate, Award of Achievement in Diversity and Inclusion, Multiple Quality training programs, over 30 leadership courses with the Physician Leadership Institute through the Canadian Medical Association, and Conflict and Mediation Certificate.
Until 2022, Dr. Brisebois served as the Medical Director for a large 360-bed hospital. She continues to contribute as the Medical Director of the Covenant Palliative Care Institute, as well as an Associate Chief Medical Officer of Covenant Health. She is a multi-award-winning teacher, has spoken at many international events, and is a published author in her fields of expertise.
