Los Angeles, California Oct 31, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - To assist consumers seeking to compare different Medicare prescription drug plans the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI) has launched a new online plan comparison tool.
"The typical consumer can select among 10 to 30 available plans," explains Mindy Hartman, AAMSI's co-director. "Once a year during Open Enrollment consumers get to compare and switch plans to get better coverage or a lower premium." Open Enrollment concludes on December 7th.
The online tool enables consumers to compare Medicare prescription drug plans available for their specific Zip Code. "Medicare Part D drug plans can vary based on where you live and what drugs you take," Hartman explains. "Provider plans can vary with different levels of drug coverage along with different premium charges."
"During Medicare's peak enrollment season it can be difficult to get appointments specifically for drug plan comparisons," Hartman acknowledges. For those who like to do a little research on their own, this is an ideal tool."
The American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance advocates for the importance of planning and supports insurance professionals who offer Medicare protection. AAMSI hosts the national online directory giving consumers free access to find local Medicare insurance brokers and agents. For more information visit the organization’s website.
