American lifestyle brand launches apparel fundraiser to remember fallen LA County Sheriff’s Deputy

Shield Republic Charities announces ‘Hold the Line’ fundraiser in memory of Detective Amber Leist

Raleigh, North Carolina Jan 22, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - To honor the heroic actions of a fallen Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy, the charitable arm of American lifestyle brand Shield Republic is releasing a new apparel fundraiser.

Shield Republic has launched a “Hold the Line” fundraiser after Detective Amber Leist was struck by a vehicle on January 12 while attempting to help a senior citizen who had fallen in a crosswalk. The detective was off duty when she saw a pedestrian fall and went to help. As she was returning to her car, she was fatally struck by an oncoming vehicle at the corner of Riverside Drive and Whitsett Avenue in Valley Village, a neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles.

Leist had served with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for 12 years, most recently via the West Hollywood station. She is survived by two sons, one of whom is currently serving with the U.S. Navy.

Shield Republic’s newest Hold the Line Fundraiser will make available special apparel honoring Detective Leist, including unisex t-shirts, hoodies, long-sleeved shirts, and ladies’ tank tops. Every item sold through the fundraiser is designed, printed, and shipped in the USA, with 100 percent of net profits from the fundraiser to be donated to Leist’s family via the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

"By all accounts, Detective Leist was a real American hero who remained committed to serving others to the very end of her life,” said Charlie Romero, spokesperson for the Shield Republic. “At Shield Republic, we are proud to be able to honor her memory and her brave, sacrificial final act as a first responder through a Hold the Line fundraiser.”
