Lexington, Kentucky Apr 2, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - The American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) proudly welcomes its newly inaugurated leadership team for the 2025-2026 term. Dr. Eileen Barrett officially assumes her role as AMWA President, leading a dynamic group of physician leaders dedicated to advancing women physicians and improving the health of women.
Dr. Barrett, former AMWA Advocacy Chair, current Senior Medical Director and VP, Quality, at Workit Health, and Chair Emerita of the Board of Regents of the American College of Physicians, has been recognized for her work in clinician well-being, health equity, and improving the care for patients with substance use disorders. She brings a strong commitment to AMWA’s mission and a vision for continued advocacy in key areas such as reproductive rights, gender equity, and clinician well-being. She has been recognized with numerous honors, including the AMWA Inspire Award, AMWA Exceptional Mentor Award, Mastership from the American College of Physicians, the AMA Inspiration Award, and an Award of Excellence from the Society of Hospital Medicine.
