She has over 20 years of clinical experience with multiple sclerosis (MS) and has held leadership roles with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She has also been the principal investigator for many research trials related to MS.

In her professional experience, she was a founding member of the ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic at LSU Health Science Center in 2010, working collaboratively with the Muscular Dystrophy Association and ALS Association to provide care to patients and their families. In addition, she was involved in research with the North Eastern ALS Society and as a member of the ALS Clinic at the New Orleans VA Clinic.
