Anton R Williams, Energy Heir in Grand Rapids MI, Advances Education Through GMNF Global Missions

Grand Rapids, Michigan Aug 28, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - Theological education is at a crossroads in the US in comparison to the majority world countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa. While the number of Christians has slightly declined in the US there has been an increase in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The head of GMNF Global Mission Society, a global missions organization, is making advances in theological education that is proving positive impacts.

Anton R. Williams of Grand Rapids MI is the head of the GMNF Global Mission Society. The organization has personnel who comprise of Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant Christians around the world that are united by the central tenants of Christianity. The organization has operations that include prison, orphan, homeless, counseling, health care and social services. It also supports partner missions organizations. GMNF has recommended Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) of Deerfield IL as a provider of theological and missiological education. TEDS School of World Missions Founding Dean, David J Hesselgrave, is also regarded as modern missions founding Dean as well. Hesselgrave imprint on the curriculum is still existent and is one of the reasons GMNF Global Mission Society recommends it for theological and intercultural studies.

GMNF Global Mission Society offers tuition free payments to its personnel who attend Trinity for graduate school education. GMNF, which has Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant Christians as personnel also has missions to those denominational non profit organizations and churches. GMNF has shown how the curriculum of TEDS degrees can synergies with Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant missiology to have a profound benefit on local communities across the globe.

One area that Anton is pioneering is an interdisciplinary field called Apologetical Missiology. This includes astronomy, biology, classical history, archaeology, theology and other disciplines for both applied and theoretical Apologetical Missiology. Anton is quoted as referring to a lack of apologetics as part of the curriculum in mission schools and departments. Furthermore, apologetics isn’t used often enough by missionaries. As an example, Anton refers to a video in which former mission Dean at Fuller Seminary Donald McGavran said when he started his career in the 1920s that 90% of missionaries didn’t speak the gospel but instead did good works in hopes people would see it and become Christian. Near the end of McGavran’s life in the 1980s he estimated the situation was the same. The interdisciplinary Apologetical Missiology is used within GMNF Global Mission Society and is aimed at addressing the lack of speaking the gospel by mission personnel.

Anton R. Williams is a 9th generation real estate, oil and gas heir. His initial forebear to the US was David Williams a Welsh business owner who lived in the 1700s. Archie J Williams expanded enterprises for his descendants during the Jim Crow era as the other generations of Williams had their inheritances spent or sold off. Anton R Williams is a great grandson of Archie J Williams. He is also the owner of the Anton R Williams Holding Company of Grand Rapids MI, Kalamazoo MI and Tampa FL. GMNF Global Mission Society is supported by the monitored, secured and restricted Anton R Williams Trust.
