New Delhi, Delhi Dec 22, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - First Day of International Fashion Week started with riots of colours from North East. Delhi Fashion Club organized a show with a theme “LOCAL TO GLOBAL KHADI” Show during “International Fashion Week” which was held on 14-15 December 2019 at Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh. This show was beautifully choreographed and directed by Mr. Harshit Dhingaun, With this show, DFC also celebrates 150yr of Mahatma Gandhi and 100 yrs of Charkha.
Through this show, DFC tried to give a platform to such designers who are working closely with the weavers, artisans & making garments with a vision for a better tomorrow for the world and the nation. Looking at the initiative big appeal & influence, it's being supported & appreciated by the Department of Forest & Wildlife, Punjab ( Govt. Of India ) as well.
Arbin Tonjam is one of the most talented young designers from Manipur who have showcased at various platforms locally, with this show he made his International debut in the International Fashion World. This show highlighted the richness of Handlooms & the textile of North Eastern State Manipur. Arbin presented his Manipuri handloom to promote northeast & accessories for the models includes wooden sticks headgear which was beautifully amalgamated with Manipuri sensibilities of designs. Opening of the show was done by Miss Asia Pacific India Akanksha Dhiman and ended by the Showstoppers Manipuri Actress Bala Hijam and Actor R.K. Sushant, who walked gracefully on the ramp.
On the entry of both the showstoppers' complete hall was full of cheers, claps & whistles. Their beautiful walk & presentation increased the grandeur of the show, everyone was stunned to witness the angelic aura & feel of the complete show. Special guest includes Sh. Basanta Raj Kumar IFS, Chief Conservator of Forest.
DFC is Planning to promote th cause of handloom promotions in other states like Mumbai, Bangalore, etc. This is DFC’s second show with a Manipuri celebrity walking as a showstopper, the first show includes soma laishram at Asian designer week and this time DFC worked with Bala Hijam & R.K. Sushant as the choices for representing North East. DFC launching its presence in Paris as well by 27 December to connect the designer with right platforms for there promotions.
