If you’re looking to apply to UK universities, Athena Education’s mentors have decades of experience in UK University Applications (UCAS Applications). Your mentor will work with you to understand your intellectual interests, academic and co-curricular experiences, and personal background to advise you on a course, and the set of universities to apply for. Your mentor will then partner you to write a compelling academic bildungsroman that reflects your interest in the subject.
Oxbridge interviews are notoriously rigorous and enigmatic. Our mentors, who have themselves been involved in the Cambridge or Oxford University admissions process, and themselves graduated from Oxbridge with top honors, will simulate Socratic-style 60-minute supervisions akin to your first year in the elite institution. Be prepared for heavy reading, lots of introspection, and challenging questions.
US Program – Common App / US College App Support & SAT Preparation
Common App Essay coaching is Athena Education’s signature offering. Our US college team is run by a group of Ivy League graduates who now professionally coach younger mentees, and have over 20+ years in US College Common Application coaching experience. Your mentor works closely with you to understand your academic, extracurricular, and personal achievements and interests. This, combined with your historic academic performance, can be entered into AthenaBlue to predict the colleges you have the best chances of success in applying to. The tool is purely advisory, and you are free to work with your mentor to select a different set of colleges. The mentor then works with you to craft your College Application Essay with a compelling narrative around a story that best reflects you, in your personal voice.
SAT Prep is a key step in getting your foot in the door for elite US colleges. Athena Education’s SAT mentors work with you, one-on-one, to prepare for the SAT Exam, focusing on SAT Math and SAT English. This is done through a combination of understanding your key strengths and areas of improvement, going through SAT Practice Tests together, and reflecting on questions that the mentee struggled with.
IB Program – Economics, Mathematics Support
The International Baccalaureate is a holistic pre-university program that Athena Education specializes in. All our mentors for the IB achieved 44 or 45 points themselves, out of a maximum of 45, and have at least 5 years teaching the IB syllabus. IB Economics and IB Math are Athena Education’s strongest suits, with our students achieving an average 11.4% increase in scores over 12 months in these subjects. O Level Program – Mathematics Support
