Pittsburg, California Nov 12, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Author Tanner Frankfort announces the participation of his quirky children’s book, The Battle of Elm and 11th, to this year’s book event of the American Association of School Librarians.
The Battle of Elm and 11th is a rhyming children’s tale that describes a common child-based fantasy in a charming, witty manner. In this holiday tale, Tanner expands on the childhood notion that snowmen will, from time to time, come to life during the night and conduct harmless and playful antics.
The story is about two neighboring families, the Murphys, and the Conroys, who find the snowmen they made the previous day have been destroyed. After formulating several theories as to why this peculiarity happened, Mr. Murphy finally pops the idea of snowmen coming to life and battling to their end in the street during the night. This story is well-received by the children, so Mr. Murphy goes on and explains the story further, teaching the young ones how to deal with difficulties and problems in real life.
The inspiration for this story comes from Tanner’s endless desire to turn something standard into something absurd. His sincere hope is that young readers will appreciate his cheeky little rhyming book, learn a little something, and get a few laughs along the way. Tanner lives in his hometown of Rockford, Illinois, with his wife Heather and their three children — Sam, Max, and Zoe. The author was completely obsessed as a kid with everything created by Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, Bill Watterson, Kurt Vonnegut, and George Carlin.
Tanner’s work will be exhibited during the AASL 19th National Conference & Exhibition, to be held on the 14th to the 16th of November 2019 at the Kentucky International Convention Center, located at 221 S. 4th Street, Louisville, KY, 40202.
