Raw, raging, associative, almost carnal in its tactility, his poetry emerges from the underbelly of the city. Dilip Chitre called him Poet of the Underworld.

His biopic will be directed by documentary filmmaker and theatre director Varuna Madanlal Rana. She has directed a hit mega historical play, Ajinkya Yodha’ on the life of Shrimant Bajiroa Peshwa.
Namdeo’s wife, Mallika Amar shaikh while congratulating and wishing the makers of the film said that Namdeo’s life story is bigger and larger than a Hindi film. His thoughts on society and political vision are a study for the young generation and will be relevant forever. She said that she is happy that Namdeo’s work and his struggle will reach people through this film.
