2. Bread For The World
Bread For The World is a US-based Institute that deals with providing policies on ending hunger and processes related to it. 3. Akshaya Patra
This is a globally famous Indian NGO dealing with providing mid-day school meals and lives to end school classroom hunger. The global investment bank and management firm have done quite a few things for featuring its name on this list. For instance, the company announced a $2.5 million donation to agencies dealing with hunger in 2020. The amount went on to equal 25 million meals as the campaign was led by their employees. The campaign was named ‘Move For Meals’.
6. Walmart
Most people know Walmart as a multinational retail corporation controlling hypermarkets. Well, it is true but they also run campaigns side by side for fighting hunger and starvation across the globe. Their initiative in 2014 for providing over 4 billion meals in five years paid off with the help of the Walmart Foundation by giving food donations from Walmart stores. Walmart Foundation donated $100 million and $50 million in the year 2016 and 2017 respectively to address the food and hunger crisis.
7. Darden Restaurants
Darden restaurants claim to be ideally placed to fight hunger in the United States by collaborating with Feeding America. With their Harvest Food Donation Program, they have donated more than 127 million pounds of food. Their Darden Foundation has also donated $10 million to Feeding America.
8. Yum! Brands
The first and the last in this list are inter-related as Yum! Brands partnered with World Food Programme for raising funds and awareness by creating the World Hunger Relief program. This is the largest program on the issue of hunger, which involves more than 40,000 restaurants of Pizza Hut, KFC, and Taco Bell.
