Conflict handling capability at the workplace adds a new direction to the employees’ thought processes about the organization. Well, the human resource professional is the one who needs to resolve any kind of problem that takes place in a work zone. This might be a challenge for anyone to face such a situation. As an HR, one needs to find creative strategies to solve the glitches. 

The followings are some creative strategies that an HR can implement in unforeseen situations –

1. Have an open mind:

An HR needs to go in with an open mind and should have words with both parties. It is very important to hear the problem from both sides and understand the situation. After that, they should always ask them what should be done in the situation and take a decision accordingly so that the decision doesn’t affect anyone.

2. Ask relevant questions:

Whenever in a time conflict, HR should ask everyone relevant and authentic questions. So that it becomes easier to solve the problem. Along with that asking genuine questions will help them to understand the situation better.

3. Give your best to give a solution:

In any conflict in a workplace, HR is the only person who is responsible to solve it. so try to give the best and most wise solution that is possible to give in that situation. While giving a solution try not to offend any party by being biased.

Sometimes you can also be an advocate and help the employees to find the solutions by themselves. This coach mentality can be very much effective in a situation like this. You do not have to be a problem solver every time and handle a situation like this.

HR is the concerned person to solve any problem between two employees. So it is their responsibility to familiarize both parties and make them good in terms. They should work like media and solve the problem.

HR should help their employees with solutions and resolve them most wisely. HR should personally meet both of them and give solutions to them. A resolution is only possible when both parties come up with a solution between each other.

HR should try making the situation as simple as possible. The more they will keep the situation simple, it would more easy to solve it and come up with effective solutions.

Try to reframe the situation and help the parties to understand the whole scenario from each other’s perspective. This way the situation will become easier and simple to solve.

13. Follow up post-meeting:

After solving the conflict, in most cases, it can be seen that the problem still lingers between the employees. So a follow-up after the meeting should take place to solve the problem from its roots.

Conflict is a very common thing in a workplace, so as an HR, you should always guide for a healthy conflict. After a conflict, an employee gets to understand things from different perspectives and notice each other wrongdoings. So HR should guide them through it.
