Brazilian Afrofuturist author Ale Santos elevates the literary genre to new frontiers in his country.

Belem, Para May 5, 2024 (Issuewire.com)  - Ale Santos, one of the most prominent Afrofuturist authors of the new generation in Brazil, is ready to launch his unique and powerful vision of science fiction and Afro-Brazilian culture to the world. Internationally recognized for his ability to blend science fiction with elements of the rich African cultural heritage, Santos is determined to transcend geographical and cultural boundaries to bring his narratives to new audiences worldwide.

Cited by the Science Fiction Research Association (SFRA) as the most popular Afrofuturist author of the new generation in Brazil and by the NY Times as one of the genre's leading figures in Latin America, Ale Santos has garnered acclaim both nationally and internationally. His works explore themes of Afrocentricity, ancestry, resistance, and imaginative futures, pushing the boundaries of what is possible while prompting readers to rethink existing social structures.

Santos has been a finalist for the prestigious Jabuti award on two occasions, as well as a standout at the CCXP Awards. His books, such as "Traces of Resistance: History of Struggle and Freedom of the Black People" and "The Last Ancestor," have been recognized not only for their literary quality but also for their social and political importance.

Additionally, Santos had the privilege of representing Brazil in the science fiction anthology "Cautions, Dreams & Curiosities: The Tomorrow Project" and of scripting "La Bestia" for the famous video game franchise Assassin's Creed: Visionaries.

His ambitious plans include taking the Latin American vision of Afrofuturism and science fiction, especially the Brazilian one, beyond the continent. With the recent foray into the US narrative market, Santos has shown his ability to significantly impact the global literary scene. He became the first Brazilian writer to script a narrative for the Assassin's Creed franchise, incorporating it into the history and cultural nuances of Brazil during the military dictatorship of the 1970s.

With adaptations of his books in progress and the production of new stories, Ale Santos is determined to explore new literary markets, particularly those that have inspired him throughout his career, such as the great names of world science fiction.
