New York City, New York Oct 5, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Being a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Murphy treats patients of all ages. In collaboration with Duly Health and Care, Dr. Murphy extends his services at both Medical Office Building 1 - Naperville Campus and Naperville Surgical Centre. Additionally, he serves as an attending physician at Edward Hospital.
“I work to engage the patient as an equal partner in their care. I feel that my duty is to inform the patient in a caring manner of all the options that are available to them. I then strive to actively assist the patient in arriving at the best treatment possible. I believe that an active and engaged patient makes the best patient and that this involvement of the patient in their own care will lead to the best outcome.”
A 1999 graduate of the Washington University School of Medicine (Missouri), Dr. Murphy went on to perform his internship at Louisiana State University Hospital (Shreveport) in 2000. Subsequently, he completed his residency at the Louisiana State University Medical Center (New Orleans) in 2004, followed by a fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center in 2005.
With over two decades of experience in his field, the doctor holds board certification in orthopedic surgery and surgery of the hand through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

Orthopedic Surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders. They work in clinical and hospital settings.
Attributing his success to the strong work ethic instilled in him by his parents, Dr. Murphy was honored with the prestigious Harry D. Morris Award in the year 2000.
On a more personal note, he enjoys playing tennis and soccer, golfing, cycling, and traveling.
