Silver Spring, Maryland Dec 13, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - The U.S. Food & Drug Administration has issued a recall for several soda franchises. From Diet Coke and Sprite to Fanta Orange Products that are sold in Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi due to a “Potential foreign material” found in them. According to the announcement made by the FDA, around 2000 cases of these products found these foreign bodies were in 12-ounce aluminum cans in 12-pack fridge packs. All of these products have been recalled by the FDA.

The items, UPC numbers, and best-by dates are below:

Diet Coke: 12-pack fridge pack of 12-oz. aluminum cans. UPC: 49000028911, Best By 01/29/24

Fanta Orange: 12-pack fridge pack of 12-oz. aluminum cans. UPC: 49000030730, Best By 07/29/24

Sprite packaged: 12-pack fridge pack of 12-oz. aluminum cans. UPC: 49000028928 Best By 07/29/24

To be precise the number of cases found by far is 1,557. FDA doesn’t have been clear on the fact that what “foreign material” can be found in those cans. The recall by the FDA is classified as a Class II recall. As per the record, a Class II recall indicates a situation in which a “violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

According to the reports, the Coca-Cola Company is determined to complete this recall issued by the FDA. And they have assured us that no further affected cans are available in the market. Unfortunately, this is not the first time the Coca-Cola Company has issued a recall due to “foreign material.” They said all recall activities in the local markets are complete. No impacted product remains in the market.”

Apart from them, Aviator Sundried Tomato Halves are also being recalled due to under-clear sulfites, which can be life-threatening for people who are sensitive to this ingredient. Pre-cut cantaloupes are also being recalled in the U.S.A. and Canada.

In 2021, Coca-Cola recalled variants of Minute Maid juice products over concerns that foreign metal objects like metal bolts or washers, had entered their products. At that point, the company issued the voluntary recall of nearly 7,000 cases of Minute Maid Products. FDA classified that recall as a Class II recall as well.
