Interventional radiology (IR), sometimes known as vascular and interventional radiology (VIR), is a radiology specialty which provides minimally invasive image-guided diagnosis and treatment of disease. As a Vascular & Interventional Radiologist, Dr. Looney uses several tools to precisely target and treat disease, as well as performs procedures to provide quality, efficient and personalized radiographic care to the people of the CSRA. Some of the procedures that he performs include percutaneous tumor ablation, image guided biopsies, transjugular liver biopsies, and arterial/venous embolization - among others.
