Irving, Texas May 14, 2026 (Issuewire.com)  - Cody S. Hays, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant whose dedication to patient-centered care, clinical efficiency, and community service continues to make a meaningful impact across urgent care and family medicine settings in Texas.

Currently practicing at Rapid City Healthcare in Irving, Cody serves as an autonomous provider responsible for evaluating and treating approximately 15 to 25 patients per shift. Her work spans a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions, requiring quick clinical decision-making, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to identify potentially life-threatening presentations that require emergency escalation or specialized intervention.

Cody’s clinical expertise includes the interpretation of X-rays and ECGs to guide treatment decisions and patient disposition. She is also highly proficient in numerous in-office procedures, including laceration repair, splinting and fracture stabilization, wound care management, incision and drainage procedures, and foreign body removal. Her ability to maintain efficient patient flow while balancing accuracy and compassion has become one of her defining strengths as a healthcare provider.

“What I enjoy most about practicing medicine is having the best of both worlds in my current role,” Cody shared. “I get to see urgent care cases that I can take care of right there in the clinic, and I also have the privilege of doing continuity care for family medicine. Building those ongoing relationships with patients while also helping people with immediate urgent needs makes my work incredibly fulfilling.”

Before becoming a Physician Assistant, Cody built a strong clinical foundation as a Medical Laboratory Technician at Faith Community Hospital in Jacksboro. In that role, she performed diagnostic testing in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and urinalysis. That experience helped strengthen her clinical reasoning and laboratory interpretation skills early in her medical career.

Her medical education included extensive clinical rotations in emergency medicine, urgent care, internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, surgery, OB/GYN, and behavioral health, helping her develop a well-rounded understanding of patient care across diverse populations and medical specialties.

Cody earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University before completing her Master of Physician Assistant Degree at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in May 2025. During her graduate training, she received the Donald Hamm Family Scholarship and earned first place at Watson Scholar’s Day, reflecting both her academic excellence and commitment to advancing clinical knowledge.

In addition to her clinical practice, Cody is deeply passionate about serving underserved populations worldwide. Through the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, she participated in multiple medical mission trips, traveling to Ecuador three times and Kenya once. During these missions, she provided primary care services through mobile clinics in extremely rural and remote communities, including mountainous regions where many residents faced hours-long travel for access to care. Rather than requiring patients to travel to them, Cody and her team traveled directly into these underserved communities to ensure no patient was turned away from receiving care.

An active member of the American Academy of Physician Associates, the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Cody remains committed to professional growth, lifelong learning, and providing exceptional care wherever it is needed most.
