Mesa, Arizona Sep 13, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - A cutting-edge physical therapy, golf, and sports performance institute is opening in the rapidly expanding Mesa-Gateway area. Arizona Performance Institute offers a wide range of rehabilitation and preventative physical therapy services, as well as one-on-one, semi-private, and group golf and sports performance coaching.
Located off of Ellsworth and Pecos, Arizona Performance Institute (AZPI for short) has over 5,600 square feet of space and offers a unique experience from the moment you step through the front doors. “We didn’t want to be just another physical therapy clinic,” says co-founder and head of clinical operations Dr. Julie Cortina. AZPI wants its patients and athletes to look forward to each visit, get the most out of their time at the facility, and expect better when it comes to their physical therapy and sports performance needs.
AZPI started as a distant dream between two physical therapy co-workers who wanted more for their patients. “Julie and I would often discuss how we wished we could give more time and undivided attention to our patients, but it was out of our control.” says co-founder and head of operations Larry Ortega.
One day, Larry and Julie decided to explore the possibility of opening their facility with their spouses, who were immediately on board. Now, two years later, Arizona Performance Institute is ready for business. It may seem unlikely for Larry, a combat veteran who served two one-year tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, to team up with Julie, a collegiate gymnast, but the two share an equal passion for physical wellness, sports, and a strong desire to help others. “You only get one body, and we want to help you take care of yours!” says Julie.
Larry has over 25 years of competitive and recreational golf experience, and has worked in the physical therapy field for more than a decade. He also holds a level two certification from Titleist Performance Institute. Julie has been an athlete nearly her entire life, including a full-ride scholarship at the University of Minnesota. After completing her bachelor's degree, Julie became a personal trainer, but quickly realized that many of her clients had injuries she couldn’t treat. This inspired her to become a physical therapist, where she helps a wide range of patients, including some as young as 6 weeks, and as old as ninety-six years.
Arizona Performance Institute’s grand opening event is on October 1st, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and includes food, drinks, giveaways up to $500 (in value), golf simulator contests, a bounce house, and more. New patients and athletes can request appointments before the grand opening.
AZPI is currently expanding its insurance options, accepts cash pay visits, and has exclusive packages and membership options. For more information visit www.azpipt.com or email info@azpipt.com.
