In June 2022, Creative Biolabs started the 2022 Creative Biolabs Scholarship Program for freshman, undergraduate, graduate, or Ph.D. students majoring in a science-related field. And the Selection Committee has graded the materials of applicants carefully and selected the final winner for this $1,000 award, Ashley Harkins, who is working to complete her Ph.D. at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School.
“This award will support my research endeavors in investigating novel immune therapies for neuroinflammatory disorders. In conducting research in this area, I am hoping to help pave a future for the development of therapies that can alleviate the suffering associated with these diseases,” said Ashley in her acceptance speech.
More than any other demographic group, youths are characterized by their openness to new ideas, their passion for pursuing goals, and their courage to break existing barriers or preconceptions. During the selection, the innovative thoughts as well as scholastic and professional skills of all applicants took committee members by surprise.
