From October 14-21, 2018, foodies and influencers can satisfy their cravings for African-American, African and Caribbean cuisines at this unique, week-long run of food-centric events while supporting black-owned restaurants and culinary professionals. Due to the huge success of this annual culinary series in other markets, BRW has decided to expand to Dallas! Foodies in the Big D will be able to eat their hearts out with options from participating black-owned restaurants, featuring unbelievable price options for brunch, lunch and dinner from popular eateries including Elaine’s Kitchen (Caribbean), LoLo’s Chicken (soul food), Peace Love & Eatz (vegetarian/vegan), The Island Spot (Jamaican) and many more. Casual dining options range from $15 to $25 per person while fine dining ranges from $35 to $45 per person. Aroma, presented by Facebook, is the professional development experience during Black Restaurant Week. A panel of business leaders in the culinary industry will share their knowledge on opening a restaurant or food truck and managing a successful operation.
NOSH: Culinary Showcase | Thurs, October 18th @ 6 pm | The Empire Room
Presented by Verizon, this evening of culinary excitement promises mouth-watering tastings and friendly kitchen competition by Dallas’ top caterers and executive chefs, plus live cooking demonstrations by Chefs Kevin Johnson, Kim Donalson, and Kenneth Temple.
Power of Palate: Bartender Competition | Thurs, October 18th @ 6 pm | The Empire Room
The official BRW bartending competition featuring the City’s top black bartenders creating their best craft cocktails while attendees indulge in limitless libations and laughter.
As an extension to DFWBRW’s commitment to the agricultural community, DFWBRW has partnered with F.A.R.M.S. (Family. Agriculture. Resource. Management. Services.), a national non-profit organization that supports family farmers through education and retail market expansion, while relieving hunger in the farmer's community.
