New Delhi, Delhi Apr 14, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - 58th National Roller Skating Championship 2020-21 concluded on 10th April in Mohali, Punjab. This was the first National level Roller Championship after December 2019. This was organised by the Roller Skating Federation of India (R.S.F.I) which is the governing body for skateboarding and roller sports in India.
Delhi Skateboarding team Dominated on the medals tally in the Championship like no one else. Delhi team won a total of 7 medals out of 24 which was more than any other participating state. The skateboarding event took place on the 10th of April 2021. Delhi team was followed by Madhya Pradesh and Kerela in the medals tally with 5-5 medals each. The Delhi team skateboarders had a fantastic run and they surpassed their past performance of 4 medals in 2018 and 4 medals in 2019. Delhi team was spearheaded by Mentor Surjeet Kumar and Coach Akash. Delhi team played with 13 players which comprised of 4 female and 9 male skateboarders. While Shivam Balhara and Aryan Rawat repeated their performance from 2019 and won Gold medals in their respective categories, Aadya Aditi improved her performance from Silver in 2019 to Gold in this edition. All 3 skateboarders will be on the selector’s radar for making space into team India for International Championships after their fantastic golden performance. Maira Grover, Darshana Jain, Shivam Tiwari, and Naitik Dhankar were new entrants in the Medal winner club for the Delhi team. All 13 players have been exclusively trained in the Delhi Skateboarding Academy under a strict regime. Team Coach Akash said the team will look forward to maintaining a consistent performance across championships.
