  • Despite recent progress, women still hold less than 6% of top roles in finance

New York City, New York Mar 8, 2023 (Issuewire.com)  - On International Women's Day 2023, join a conversation with Vanquour Wealth Management about the reality of women in investing, and hear the personal accounts of three leading women in the field.

Throughout the financial industry, it’s a similar story. The U.S. has made some progress in recent years — women now represent about half of the workforce at the entry level. But there’s still a major problem: it’s a broken pipeline, with representation falling off at every step of the corporate ladder. This slide is particularly steep for women of color, who continue to be under-represented in every role above entry level. It’s not for lack of trying, wanting, or talent. Research has shown having women in senior roles improves business performance, yet many continue to report a lack of support, mentors, and the workplace culture among the reasons for the gender difference.

This year, the theme of International Women’s Day is #EmbraceEquity. It recognizes that equal opportunities are no longer enough and can be exclusionary. Where equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources and opportunities, equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances, and instead allocates the resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.

It will be followed by a cocktail reception.
