Washington, D.C, District of Columbia Oct 10, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - DHS today announced that Roger Melton approached the Board of Directors and proposed to voluntarily step aside as Vice Chairman of DHS. The Board accepted his proposal, and Fernando Aguirre, former Vice President of DHS, has been appointed DHS Vice Chairman effective immediately.
"DHS is truly in my blood and always will be, and the focus should be on the firm and its world-changing mission, not me," said Melton. "So I made the difficult decision to approach the Board and volunteer to step aside as Vice Chairman. Working with DHS and growing it into a firm that will change advocacy for the better and help protect our world has been an incredible honor."
"As we move forward, I am confident Fernando Aguirre is the right leader to guide our vision at the Board level. In addition to being an early believer and supporter of DHS, Fernando has more than 20 years of experience working with leaders, organizations, nonprofits, suppliers, dealers, labor leaders and national policy makers, and has served as a director of numerous companies."
Melton continued, "We've built a deep bench of talent over the years, and I am confident that DHS's leadership will continue to forge new pathways of success in advocacy. I want to thank all employees, investors and partners who have shared in my vision and rallied behind DHS during this time."
Fernando Aguirre said, "On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Roger for his visionary leadership and significant contributions to DHS since its founding. Roger saw the possibility of creating a playing-field where advocacy and policy making could coexist and took action to build the DHS of today, with world-class partnerships, groundbreaking research, and a revolutionary business model. I know I speak for everyone at DHS in our gratitude and in wishing him all the best."
"We remain committed to delivering on our objectives and creating value for our clients," said Fernando Aguirre, Vice Chairman of DHS. "Along with the rest of the management team, I will continue to work closely with the team and the Board to advance DHS's vision for the future. Our priorities remain unchanged and, in collaboration with our partners, we are laser-focused on executing on our strategic initiatives and laying the groundwork to become a vertically integrated advocacy and lobbying solutions provider."
