We here at the Naismith International Basketball Foundation are extremely grateful for the acknowledgement of our founders grandfather – Dr. James Naismith – the inventor of Basketball. Dr. Naismith created this game to meet a need and the need was not to desecrate each other during a game. The reason it was created was to teach everyone how to be a unit and circumvent anything that came in into your path of what we call “LIFE”! Watching this movie is so powerful and hopefully everyone that has the pleasure of truly seeing what and why the game of basketball was truly invented. Ultimately revealing who, what, and why sportsmanship is meant for the world. What people do not even have a concept of, who is Dr. Naismith? And who he was and what was his biggest accomplishment. And what is the true purpose of why the game of basketball and every direction you engaged in reveals your, “TRUE- CHARACTER!”
Dr. Naismith loves the fact that, the wave hasn’t slowed down and has no plans on changing direction! Not only mentioning the inventor of our founder’s grandfather, Dr. Naismith and what has happened to the game but actually acknowledging the fact on what were the beginning items that are the very reason why the game is called basket- ball! Just imagine if the janitor Mr. Stebbins would have done exactly what Dr. Naismith originally asked him for- two milk crates – “CRATE- BALL”- I don’t think so! BLACKTOP basketball is, has and always will be the best game in the world – Basketball was meant to showcase your talents but never ever disrespect anyone and everyone that is associated with the mission- of being:
“STRONG IN BODY- CLEAR IN MIND & LOFTY IN IDEALS”
