It was founded in 2002 with a motive of providing service to the underprivileged and ignored population. The founder of this non-governmental organization is Dr Jennifer Douglas Abubakar. The group started with providing training, advocacy, research, and high-quality treatment for HIV/AIDS victims. Dr Jennifer Douglas Abubakar is making investments to enable support to these children in the education, medical, and psychosocial field. Peer’s Educators Program and Educational support are two initiatives of the Gede Foundation in which the group facilitate essential school material and conduct income-generating activities to support children for their future.
Gede Foundation, which was founded by Jennifer Iwenjiora Douglas Abubakar has made lots of improvements in these many years for AIDS/HIV victims in Nigeria. In 2013, they have discovered that HIV/AIDS patient, as well as their family members; suffer from mental health disorders like epilepsy. From there, they started programs for mental health screenings, care, and support.
