Dubuque, Iowa Apr 10, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Ryker Kurimski, a Dubuque native, has announced the opening of UniMovers Dubuque, a new socially-responsible moving company in Dubuque, Iowa. UniMovers Dubuque provides moving labor services, including loading and unloading moving trucks and mobile storage units, event set-up and tear down, general labor, furniture pick-up and delivery, piano or single item moving, and junk removal.
UniMovers Dubuque will join a network of locations in Iowa, South Carolina, and North Carolina. UniMovers’ mission is to enable college students to graduate debt free, offer affordable moving services to contribute to community growth, and give back to local nonprofits that encapsulate the heart of our communities. UniMovers Dubuque plans to hire primarily college students and recent graduates and annually donates a portion of its revenue to its working student scholarship fund and a local nonprofit.
Kurimski was an active member of the Dubuque community growing up and searched for a career that would enable him to contribute further. He stated, "Opening up UniMovers Dubuque presents me with the opportunity to establish the same job for college students that I enjoyed working through my college career. In addition to providing jobs and affordable moving services, I will be donating a portion of every move to the Dubuque Regional Humane Society, a no-kill shelter that provides medical and behavioral treatments and cares for 2,900 animals annually.” Kurimski’s passion for contributing to their mission stems from adopting his own dog, Kailey, from them years ago, he explained, “I hope our contributions will allow others to find their own forever friend just like they helped me find mine."
Kurimski aims to be active in the community and connect with other local businesses to explore potential partnerships. “I anticipate working with local storage units, along with making connections and partnerships with local real estate brokerages and apartment complexes and any home and commercial moving needs, and I’m looking forward to meeting other business owners out here in eastern Iowa.”
