A 1988 graduate of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Dr. Hirsh went on to perform her residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. She followed this up with a fellowship in infectious disease at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

With years of experience, she is board-certified in infectious disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), Dr. Hirsh is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the Infectious Diseases Society of New Jersey, the Institutional Review Board at Somerset Medical Center, and the P&T Committee Medical Center of Princeton.

Infectious disease is a medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infections. An infectious disease specialist’s practice also consists of managing nosocomial (hospital-acquired) infections.

Throughout Dr. Hirsh’s career, she has authored and co-authored multiple scientific articles and given lectures on topics ranging from STDs to vaccine updates and travel immunizations. 

Outside of the office or hospital, one can find Dr. Hirsh on the sidelines of the soccer field cheering on her sons or discussing current events with her daughter. She also enjoys reading and hanging out with her Bichon Frise.
