Atlanta, Georgia Mar 14, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Andrew Ramey, an up-and-coming indie pop artist based in Alabama, is gaining recognition for his unique melodic wordplay and catchy hooks over acoustic guitar-based “hip-pop” beats. Andrew is a self-taught and self-producing artist who draws inspiration from North East indie artists like mike. and Mac Miller. “I’ve always had a love for guitar, and that mixed with how much I admire North East indie artists like mike. and Mac Miller influence my creative process for sure,” Andrew says. Growing up in a lower-middle-class town in North Alabama, Andrew taught himself how to play guitar and piano from YouTube at the age of 13. Despite the challenge of growing up in an area where music wasn’t considered a career, Andrew continued to explore his musical craft throughout his teenage years. In 2018, Andrew released a home-recorded mash up of ‘92 Explorer and I miss the old you by artist Post Malone and blackbear. This mash-up blew up over night, gaining close to half-a-million views on Andrew’s SoundCloud.
In 2020, Andrew moved away from his hometown and relocated to Alabama’s largest metropolitan area, Birmingham, where he built a home studio with state-of-the-art equipment and began releasing his music through United Masters.
Andrew’s latest release includes six singles, which have performed exceptionally well for an independent artist. His Spotify page has over 36,000 monthly followers and a combined stream count of over 234,000 in the last six months. His most popular songs are “Regrets,” “Keystone,” and “Salt Lake.”
As an emerging artist, Andrew is actively seeking a major label to sign with. His unique sound and dedicated fanbase make him a promising addition to any label’s roster. Andrew is excited about the prospect of taking his music to the next level and sharing it with an even wider audience.
