Toronto, Ontario Oct 21, 2019 (Issuewire.com) - Universe Pictures Group in association with Mr. Bravo Entertainment, Producers of the movie "Excelsis" announced a movie title change from "Excelsis" to "EFC" (Excelsis Fighting Championship).
In the movie "EFC", Cassady Jones finds herself in a melee that shocks the sports world, while leaving the EFC in the most tumultuous period of its history. In the aftermath Cassady and seven other female competitors are given an opportunity to fight in a tournament to crown a new champion. Understanding that her big break is at hand, Cassady comes to the realization that it's not just in another fight, it's the fight for everything.
The word "Excelsis" itself has its origin in Latin that translates the Greek word ὑψίστοις - hypsístois, which in turn translates to “the highest”.
When asked how the original title was birthed, Director & Producer Jaze Bordeaux explained, “looking back on it the “Excelsis” as a title felt right. Especially considering its anonation around exceling and rising above in the story plot. The inspiration behind the word excelsis revolved around the main protagonist’s journey to grow beyond her limitations and only by surpassing them can she excel beyond her self doubt and fear”.
According to Mr Bordeaux, " ‘EFC’ as the movie title is definitely more emblematic of what we have created, as well as the terrific performance of our key cast. We felt that the title ‘EFC’ adequately relates to the central plot of the movie and better connects with the audience”.
"EFC" is currently on pace to become the first female led mixed martial arts movie in the Drama Sport movie genre, a sub genre that has boosted over $3,800,000 in gross theatrical revenue with it's top 100 movie titles over the past thirty years according to Box Office Mojo.The movie stars Karlee Rose as Cassady Jones, Gemini award winner Richard Zeppierri as Frank Russo, Andrea Drepaul as Nikki Reed, Kathry Aboya as Alexa Star, Avaah Blackwell as Scarlett Jones and Alex Cruz as John David and Stephanie Jones as Donna Carter.
