Kansas City, Missouri Nov 20, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Fine art collection curator, Byron Harper, and his gallery, Affricana Art will be making an appearance at the Real Cowboy Association (RCA): National Black Rodeo Finals on November 19th. The event will be taking place at the Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City, Louisiana. Harper will be supporting the event as a vendor in an effort to expose the community to fine African art.
The Kansas City residing art collection curator will be attending the event to honor the memory of the RCA founder, Frank "Penny' Edwards, and the legacy he leaves behind. The members will be honoring the association’s late founder during the 2022 finals. Harper’s decision to attend is rooted in his ambitions to be more active in the community.
Over the last decade, Harper has become more intentional in supporting the African-American community. "The movie 'Black Panther' inspired me to become more active. I buy and sell African art but noticed a dissonance when looking at my connection to the African diaspora in my own country. Event participation with the Real Cowboy Association and others like it have helped me connect to the various black communities." states the Affricana Art founder.
Affricana Art is expecting to bring a select few pieces of exclusive African artwork to the event. The owner has disclosed that 'Black Panther' inspired necklaces will be sold during the event. The necklaces are not available online and will be a limited-time item. Those going to the event can meet the founder at the November 19th event at the vendor booths or follow Affricana Art on TikTok.
