Five leading Corporate Leaders Conferred D.Litt. at Ajeenkya DY Patil University

Mumbai, Maharashtra Jan 23, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - The Fourth Convocation Ceremony of Ajeenkya DY Patil University(ADYPU) was held at its sprawling campus in Charholi Budruk, Pune.

The Convocation was held in the gracious presence of Guest of Honour, Dr. D.Y. Patil, Former Governor, Bihar, Tripura and West Bengal, Shekhar Suman-a well-known television and film personality and Dr Ajeenkya DY Patil--President, Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University.

The Grand Convocation also witnessed the presence of five eminent leaders from the corporate world who were conferred the Doctor of Letters –Honoris Causa (D.Litt.) for their valuable contribution to the world of humanity, education, design, management, society and business.

The recipients included Satish Pai, Managing Director, Hindalco Industries, RajshreePathy, Founder, India Design Forum, Chairperson, Rajshree Sugars and Chemicals Ltd., JehangirWadia, MD & CEO, Go Air, MD Bombay Dyeing and Zvi Yemini, Chairman, TechCare Ltd and Dr Anil Baburao Bansode--Consultant Physician (Ayurveda). Addressing the students, Dr Ajeenkya DY Patil, President & Chairman-ADYPU said, “We are at a very interesting juncture of our times. We are at the innovation age. No generation in the history of our existence has been faced with the sheer magnitude of technology that is now at our disposal. You can leverage technology for self-sustenance. You will need to constantly evolve and retool
yourself to fit into the future generation. Your aspirations must at all times remain attuned to the direction the world is moving in.He added, “At ADYPU, we have always endeavoured to stimulate and develop our students’ intellectual curiosity, creativity and their professional skills. We have wished our students to develop a commitment to an interdisciplinary approach so as to enable them to cope with innovation and contribute to societal problem-solving. This means that we want to provide students with a solid base for a successful and fulfilled work-life. We want our students to become good
citizens in today’s globalized world.

Dr Edmond Maher, Vice Chancellor, ADYPU said that today we have more than 3000 students enrolled at the University. The University has Eight Schools with the recent addition of the ninth School--the School of Architecture. We have introduced Bachelor of Fashion Design to widen the horizon of design. The University is becoming an enduring global center of excellence in higher education, anchored in research & innovation, driven by an outstanding faculty, supported by national & international academic partnerships.

The Convocation witnessed a large number of students graduating from various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the field of management, law, design, engineering, media & communication. Medals of Merit were awarded to twenty three students for their academic excellence.
