Detroit, Michigan Oct 5, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - A few of the premier former artists of Motown are releasing their debut songs in 2021 at the same time.
Diana Ross’ new song titled “If The World Just Danced” was released 4 weeks ago; the Four Tops’ new song is titled “Freedom” which was recently released on numerous distribution platforms, and the Temptations featuring Smokey Robinson released “Is It Gonna Be Yes Or No”. The Temptations is celebrating 60 years of their existence and the upcoming LP “Temptations 60”, is currently available on all major streaming platforms. “When Otis called me and said, ‘Hey man, we’re doing a new album and we’d like you to do a song,’ that got me excited about working together again,” Robinson says in a statement. “That was it, that’s all it took. I proceeded to write a new song for them, and I was very happy because it’s been a long time. When I showed up at the studio, Otis said, ‘Man, I want you to sing on this one with us.’ So, I said, ‘Oh, OK, I’m very excited about the song, let’s do it!’ You, know, it’s just great working with them, always.”
Diana Ross’ single “Thank You” was released in June of this year (2021), which is also the title of her upcoming album which is to be released in November of this year. The two songs (“Thank You” & “If The World Just Dance”) boasts multiple collaborators: The songs were written by no less than seven writers, including Aliandro Prawl, Andre Pinckney, Scott M. Carter, Amy Wadge (who co-wrote “Thinking Out Loud” with Ed Sheeran), Vanessa Wood, and Jaquetta Singleton.”
The Four Tops was also one of Motown’s premier singing groups along with the Temptations & Diana Ross and the Supremes. The Tops’ new 2021 release is titled “Freedom”. This up-temple song is certainly a refreshing 21st-century tune for the superstar group.
Duke Fakir is the only living member of the original group and the newer lineup consists of Roquel Payton (the son of original member Laurence Payton), Ronnie McNeir (former Motown solo artist), and the new lead vocalist on the new song “Freedom” Alexander “Lex” Morris.
All songs by all artists are now available on all major distribution platforms.
