Dr, Curtis’ clinical interests range from the treatment of atrial fibrillation; implantable devices like pacemakers to control of malignant arrhythmias; to the integration of ablative and drug therapies to control arrhythmias. He also specializes in patients with difficult to control heart failure and high blood pressure. He developed a section at the Clinic investigating the cause of fainting spells.
Dr Curtis earned his Medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School (U-M) along with a PhD in Pharmacology (drug research). His Internal Medicine training was at Michigan while he completed his Cardiology Training at the University of California in San Diego.
Additionally, Dr Curtis is Board-Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and American Board of Internal Medicine.
He is the former President of the San Diego County Heart Association and holds many teaching awards. He has also served as the Chief of Staff at Green Hospital, Scripps Clinic.
