Garfield, New Jersey May 21, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Frank Barber of Garfield has a Masters's Degree in Education and has been teaching for 22 years with the past 2 years in the Garfield School District in Garfield, NJ as an Educational Technology Specialist. In his role, he teaches teachers how to incorporate and use technology in the classroom. Prior to that he taught in Cliffside Park, NJ where he taught an average of 25 students in every class and has both special education and regular education students in his classes, where he differentiates instruction to address all learning styles. He had the responsibility of teaching technology classes, Gifted and Talented as well as some Title 1 math. Working in this setting has been both challenging and rewarding and has given him the opportunity to use many different teaching styles and methods in the classroom.
A large majority of his teaching career was teaching computers, all of his computer lessons were cross-curricular by incorporating classroom teacher lessons in his own lessons. He taught the students how to research on the web, Microsoft Office, coding, floor design programs/cad, and steam. He uses many tools and styles to teach his students such as smartboards, handouts, individual guidance, peer teaching, and many other strategies.
Throughout his career in education, he has learned that all students are capable of learning regardless of level, and in order to be the best Teacher and get the students to learn efficiently he had to be cognizant of their learning styles. He did this by helping the Cliffside Park School District develop a computer curriculum that would address all students. He also felt parent involvement plays an integral role in a child's education, as well as developing and implementing classroom management techniques when setting up his classroom which provides the proper learning environment for students to make clearly measurable advances in learning.
