Boston, Massachusetts Jan 22, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - Members of the Russian-speaking diaspora in the U.S. are holding a rally to support Alexey Navalny, a prominent political figure in Russia, and protest his politically motivated and illegal arrest.
The rally will take place on January 23 at 2 pm outside of the Massachusetts State House.
Similar rallies will take place on the same day in dozens of cities in Russia, and major capitals in Europe and across the globe.
On January 17, 2021, Alexey Navalny was detained at a Moscow airport upon his return to Russia after rehabilitation from poisoning by Russian Security Service. The next day, on Jan 18, 2021, Alexey was sentenced behind closed doors to 30 days in jail during a special trial session held at the police station.
We demand his immediate release and an international investigation of crimes committed against him by Putin’s government.
