New York City, New York Sep 8, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - Geez Da Gawd creates music that helps carry people through life’s difficulties. The visionary musician releases songs with a distinct sound inspired by his experiences of overcoming hurdles.
Receiving deserved recognition is one of the most formidable challenges of artists. Even the most extraordinary talents experience difficulties in breaking through the crowd and rising above the noise. For artists to stand out, they need originality, diligence, and a clear vision of what they want to do and who they want to be. When it comes to artistic expression, one’s identity and skill go hand in hand.
For rapper, songwriter, and engineer Geez Da Gawd, artistry is freedom. He draws his motivation to become an artist from his desire to create his own space. Such a grand vision is expectedly difficult, but the artist was more than willing and able to put in the necessary work.
Geez Da Gawd stayed true to his own way of doing things to build something that he could call his own. He knew that originality and authenticity go a long way. Besides, he was tired of hearing the same music. He wanted to hear something different and knew that he had to create music that he would enjoy listening to.
Geez Da Gawd is self-made in every sense of the word. At the age of 28, he produces, records, mixes, masters, engineers, and markets all his songs. He creates music based on his life, as long-time fans well know. He describes his music as raw and uncut, and he teases that “new listeners may need to buckle up for a ride.” His work ethic is equally impressive and noteworthy; he continues to make multiple songs in a day.
The up-and-coming artist was born in Park Heights in Westside Baltimore and was raised on Westside Detroit. Geez Da Gawd started creating music five years ago, and his songs were quickly featured on 92Q Jams Baltimore and 93.9 WKYS DC. In 2018, his music started to gain attention when he released his single “Little Brother.” Gtrak, an Eastside Detroit producer, produced the song.
In retrospect, Geez Da Gawd recognizes numerous moments of instructive discouragement. He admits wanting to give up many times. However, he is inspired by the people who patronize his music. When his fans send him a message of how his music helped them through difficult times, Geez Da Gawd gains a broader perspective on why he should work hard to create art. He realizes that he has a responsibility to carry people through life through his music.
Geez Da Gawd knows firsthand the power of music to effect positive change. He listens to fellow artists like Future, G Herbo, Rio da Yung OG, Peezy, Babyface Ray, and many others for motivation in his creative process.
Today, Geez Da Gawd runs the Prominence Recording Studio in Maryland. When the artist started out, he wanted to be signed to a record label. After a series of negative experiences where other studios would leave his work unfinished, he realized that he could start his own label and sign himself. One thing led to another, and he acquired his own studio. Now he has Google partnerships for marketing. He hopes to continue the chain of support that artists can achieve with each other — an experience that he holds dear. In the near future, he sees a full roster of artists under his recording studio’s banner.
