Leslie A. Johnson, DNP, ARNP, FNP-C, CCRN, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, a Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Critical Care Registered Nurse with MultiCare Health System

New York City, New York Jun 19, 2020 (Issuewire.com)  - Leslie is an advanced registered nurse practitioner, a family nurse practitioner, and critical care registered nurse specializing in neurology and working in the intensive care unit. She is affiliated with MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, Washington.

MultiCare Health System is a not-for-profit healthcare organization with more than 18,000 team members, including employees, providers, and volunteers. It is the largest community-based, locally governed health system in the state of Washington, providing numerous primary care, urgent care, and specialty services — including Immediate Clinic, MultiCare Indigo Urgent Care, Pulse Heart Institute, and MultiCare Rockwood Clinic, the largest multispecialty clinic in the Inland Northwest region.

In the early days of her academic career, Leslie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma in 2007. Years later, in 2019, she graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from the same educational venue.

In order to stay up to date in her field, she remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, and the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. She also holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

An Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) is a nurse with postgraduate education in nursing. ARNPs can have primary responsibility for patient care. They practice independently to limited supervision depending on state regulations and also may work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Additional ARNP roles include certified registered nurse anesthetists and certified nurse midwives.

A Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) is an advanced practice registered nurse who works autonomously or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, to deliver family-focused care. Given the rather broad nature of the “family” patient population focus, FNPs offer a wide range of healthcare services that revolve around the family unit; from health promotion and disease prevention to direct care and counseling across the lifespan.

A Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) is a nurse who provides direct care to acutely/critically ill adult patients regardless of their physical location. Nurses interested in this certification may work in areas such as intensive care units, cardiac care units, combined ICU/CCUs, medical/surgical ICUs, trauma units or critical care transport/flight.
