The booking form operates in multiple steps. In the first step, the traveler enters a departure address using a postal code and house number. The system automatically recognizes the address and displays a confirmation. The traveler then selects the number of passengers, with options ranging from one to eight persons. The destination is preset to Schiphol Airport Amsterdam, with the option to add intermediate stops.
In the second step, the traveler specifies luggage. The form distinguishes between four luggage types: a standard suitcase measuring 76 by 52 by 36 centimeters, an XL suitcase of 85 by 60 by 38 centimeters, a cabin trolley of 55 by 25 by 40 centimeters, and hand luggage. Each type has a maximum quantity based on vehicle capacity.
Through an additional services option, travelers can indicate special items or supplementary needs. The form accommodates pushchairs, strollers, walkers, foldable wheelchairs, foldable mobility scooters, pets on lap, dogs in a crate, golf bags, diving equipment, bicycles, surfboards or skis, and moving boxes. A meet and greet service is also available for 45 euros, in which the driver awaits the traveler at the Schiphol arrival hall.
Blancke explains the rationale behind the system: "After more than 35 years in the taxi business, I know exactly what travelers run into. An extra suitcase, a dog, or a pickup at a specific terminal — that needs to be arranged in advance, not when the taxi is already at the door. This system takes care of that."
A notable addition to the platform is the Schiphol Taxi Booking App by Goedkoopnaarschiphol.nl. Built directly from the smart booking form, the app brings the full multi-step booking experience to mobile devices, allowing travelers to arrange a fixed-rate Schiphol taxi from their smartphone at any time. The app reflects the same logic as the web-based form, including luggage specification, passenger count, extra services, and automatic confirmation.
All prices calculated through both the web form and the app are fixed rates, with no meter and no additional charges for night hours, traffic, or waiting time. Upon confirmation, the customer receives an immediate email confirmation and the ride is automatically added to the company's planning.
The collaboration with SmartTaxiBooker.com made the technical development possible. SmartTaxiBooker develops booking software specifically for the taxi industry and handled the integration between the booking interface, the mobile application, and the operational planning system of Goedkoopnaarschiphol.nl.
