Greater Noida Sharadia Sanskritik Samiti celebrates Durga Puja for the 22nd Year at Greater Noida Kalibari

Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh Sep 26, 2022 (Issuewire.com)  - Jai Maa Durga!! This solemn chant infiltrated the holy land of Greater Noida in 2001 when 30 Bengali families organized the first Durga Puja next to the Jaypee Golf Course under the aegis of Sharadia Sanskritik Samiti. Over the last twenty-two years, the Bengali community has organized the Puja with utmost devotion, dedication, and integrity. Durga Puja commences from Shasthi (the sixth day after Mahalaya) followed by Saptami, Ashtami, and Navami, and culminates with the immersion of the goddess on Vijaya Dashami. In these four days, Maa Durga battles with the demon king Mahishasura and assumes various incarnations like Chandi, Chamunda, etc. These incarnations symbolize women's strength in society and their contribution to maintaining peace and harmony in the world order.

According to Hindu mythology, when Shri Ram was at war with demon king Ravan, he prayed for might and blessings to Maa Durga; satisfied with his prayer Maa Durga not only blessed Shri Ram but offered him weapons to defeat Ravan. Since the prayer was offered at the odd time, thus called Akal Bodhon, and therefore the Durga Puja celebrated in the month of Ashwin is also seen as the victory of good over evil.

Bengalees believe that during Durga Puja, Maa comes to visit her mother’s place with her children; thus, the occasion demands celebration. No stone remains unturned to make this occasion memorable, and every household decks up to the capacity to welcome the goddess. The Greater Noida Kalibari will revive the puja celebrations after two years of a lull due to COVID-19 restrictions from 30th September to 5th October 2022. The enthusiastic committee members have planned the puja within a moderate budget while fulfilling the essential requirements of bhog-prasad, well-lit pandals, food stalls, and mesmerizing cultural evenings while advising caution in celebration.

The Kalibari is the beacon of Bengali culture and heritage in Greater Noida, and appropriate events are also on the anvil to be unleased during the puja to pass on the flavour of the rich culture to the next generation growing outside Bengal.  The Greater Noida Sharadia Sanskritik Samiti (GNSSS) Executive Committee invites every Greater Noida resident to join the celebration of Sharadotsav 2022 at the Kalibari ground of Sector-Pi-II, Greater Noida.
