In the book, readers get to know 21-year-old Alyssa, who goes on a 14-day Caribbean cruise to distract herself from the depressing situation of suddenly losing both parents. Her hopeful search for the sun, love, and a new life turns into a dreadful maritime disaster which leaves Alyssa ending up in the ship’s brig. Who will save her? And in a larger scale, who will save the ship?
Author Dodding is a retired grade seven teacher turned novelist. This is her third book of fiction. Her other works comprise of one non-fiction and several anthologies. She currently lives in Kamloops, British Columbia.
Shirley’s work will be exhibited at the Manila International Book Fair to be held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia in Pasay City, Philippines this coming Sept. 11- 15, 2019 from 10am-8pm at the Authors Press booth no. 2-35.
