Sanford, Florida Jul 12, 2024 (Issuewire.com) - Harrell & Beverly Transmissions & Auto Repair proudly announces its 65th anniversary of providing exceptional automotive services to the Sanford community. This milestone marks over six decades of dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction and safety.
Founded in 1952 by Samuel Harrell and his son-in-law James Beverly in Bluefield, Virginia, Harrell & Beverly moved to Sanford in 1959. After his father-in-law's passing in 1968, James Beverly continued operating the business alongside his two sons, Alvin and Don Beverly. Alvin's sons, Nelson and Lloyd Beverly, began working in the family business full-time in the early 2000s.
Upon Alvin and Don's retirement in 2020, Nelson and Lloyd became the fourth generation of family owners, leading the business through the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite facing personal hurdles, including Nelson's wife Christina being diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2021, the family remained resolute in their commitment to excellence and service.
“You get more than just auto repair at Harrell & Beverly; you get a tradition of service and excellence that goes back four generations,” said Nelson Beverly, co-owner. “I love leading our caring team and helping others—whether it's our customers, employees, suppliers, other shops, or the person walking by who needs a bottle of water. I love the sense of community and camaraderie that Harrell & Beverly has built over the generations.”
Lloyd Beverly, co-owner, echoed his brother's sentiments. “We are here to help people, we just happen to maintain and repair cars while doing it.”
The business's success would not be possible without their dedicated employees, including their wives Angela, the bookkeeper, and Christina, the marketing director. This unique family business benefits from the special skills each member brings to the table. Additionally, ASE Certified Master Technician Jonathan Chapo has been with Harrell & Beverly for over 14 years. Jessica, the service advisor, excels at keeping customers informed about their vehicles' status, and Cameron, the facilities and parts coordinator ensures smooth operations.
One of the most iconic symbols of Harrell & Beverly is the "Little Red Jeep", a 1951 Willys CJ3A --the mascot with a lot of history and a lot of spunk. James Beverly, acquired the vehicle when working for the Norfolk & Western Railway in Virginia, brought it with him to Sanford and it has become a familiar sight in Sanford, embodying the company’s rich history and connection to the community.
