Traveling to Sedona via I-17, to Highway 179, also known as the Red Rock Scenic Byway, you come around a gentle curve and suddenly the breathtaking Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock seem to explode into view and instantly you know… you’re in Sedona. Sedona’s Village of Oak Creek, a laid-back residential and business community, outside of Sedona city limits and about 7 miles south of Uptown Sedona’s business hub. Residents can enjoy the awesome Red Rock views, 3 golf courses, newly updated Collective Sedona and Sedona Vista Village shopping centers with newer restaurants, shops, and even the villages own Yoga studio.
Chapel Area/Little Horse Park is a hilly Sedona area that divides the Village of Oak Creek from Uptown Sedona. Living in the Chapel/Little Horse Park means access to hiking trails and gorgeous views to be enjoyed by residents.
You will find Uptown Sedona at the north end of Sedona just before State Route 89A begins to meander up Oak Creek Canyon. It is jam-packed with shops, galleries, restaurants, and sightseeing tour companies. However, there are many quiet residential neighborhoods in this area.
Residential West Sedona is full of cafes and casual American and global restaurants, plus trendy boutiques, thrift stores, and the Sedona Artist Market showcasing local crafts. Hiking trails loop around the rugged slope of Airport Mesa and to Sedona Airport Overlook, a popular sunset viewing spot. Grocery stores, banks, theaters, parks, and more are convenient to Sedona residents.
This is a more laid-back area and a more rural area of Sedona. It is a bit further out of the way but tends to offer much more privacy and ample land. There are some fantastic horse properties here. However, there are several developments with luxury homes and a number of private estates in this area. Something for everyone!
