- The number one thing that they try to do is win at all costs. They are going to try to make you look as bad as possible, no matter how ridiculous it seems. They're going to twist everything. So, what’s the antidote to that? Put everything in writing. Everything you say, do, or even the way you breathe, is going to be twisted and manipulated in whatever way possible.
- The number two thing they do may surprise you, because, despite the trying to win at all costs, winning is actually not what they want to do. Not in the way you think about winning, anyway. What they want to do is get the best of you. It's going to look like they're trying to win at all costs, but what they're actually trying to do is manipulate you at all costs. Just remember that now that you are stepping out of their world, you don't have any more value for them, and they want to hurt you before you hurt them.
- The number three thing a narcissist can be expected to try to do is to use the court system as their sword. They're going to file as many motions as possible, litigate as much as possible and make you spend as much money as possible. Overall, they just want to make your life miserable by dragging you through the court system.
- The fourth thing they try to do in a divorce is that is they will try to obstruct you from everything. They're not going to provide the discovery that they're supposed to. They're just going to make you work for everything. As part of that, you're going to end up having to file motions to compel and again, you're going to have to be running up your attorney’s fees. They’ll even have court orders and they're not going to obey them.
