Dubai, United Arab Emirates Oct 10, 2018 (Issuewire.com) - The Gulf for Good – Larchfield Gala Ball will raise funds for these two hard working charities which aim to change the lives of children around the world. The Ball will be held on the HMCG Royal Lawn at the British Embassy in Dubai on Thursday 22 November.
The charity event will feature a welcome cocktail reception and 3-course dinner by the Radisson Blu Hotel, with Dubai-based vocalist, Lucy Hunter-James, keeping guests entertained. An auction and raffle, hosted by Dubai’s favourite TV and radio host Tom Urquhart, will follow. “I have been involved with Larchfield Kids for a number of years now and am inspired by what they have achieved in Tanzania. This will be my 4th time supporting the Gulf for Good – Larchfield Gala Ball and I really do encourage everyone to get involved. It's a fantastic evening in aid of an excellent cause: vulnerable children. Let's see if we can double what we raised last year!", says Urquhart.
With the aim of making this the most successful fundraising event yet, this year’s auction and raffle will offer some exciting gifts from sponsors, as well as a bespoke design generously donated by Award Winning British Designer, Matthew Pope. The modular seating unit is a collaborative piece featuring an exclusive, beautifully embossed, Boxmark gold leather, and is the only piece in the world.
“We are extremely excited about this year’s event”, says Anne Edmondson, Gulf for Good Chairwoman. “Part of our mission is to support sustainable charity projects for children so our relationship with Larchfield is a special one. We’re proud to help further the amazing work being done there, through this event. We’ve received incredible support so far from our community and local partners and look forward to welcoming many new faces from the UAE community.”
Gulf for Good work tirelessly with the local community and corporates, encouraging people to step outside their comfort zone and get involved in fundraising for vulnerable and disadvantaged children around the world. In 2019, their international charity projects will focus on improving access to basic education for all children.
Larchfield is a Gulf for Good-sponsored project in Tanzania, an orphanage and school being built for children who have been abandoned by their parents, either due to disease or death. The first of four large accommodation units for the children, plus four caretakers’ units, have already been completed and some 60 children will move in shortly. When fully realised, the project will be home to a total of 300 children.
Larchfield Co-Founder and Gulf for Good Board Member, James Berry, says, “I was born and brought up in Tanzania and wanted to give back to the community, so it’s heartening to see my life-long dream of building a children’s home come to fruition, giving children a chance to have a safe and happy childhood.
I’d like to thank Gulf for Good and my fellow colleagues for their support in this endeavour, but we still have a long way to go, and the Gala Ball will be a way for like-minded people to support us, while enjoying a fun evening.”
The black-tie Gulf for Good – Larchfield Gala Ball is on Thursday 22 November on the HMCG Royal Lawn of the British Embassy in Dubai, 6.30pm for 7.30pm. AED600 per person or AED5,500 per table of 10. For reservations, contact: anu@jamesberrylaw.ae or events@jamesberrylaw.ae
