Dallas, Texas Sep 19, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - On November 11, 2022, former fashion model, successful Dallas real estate investor, and children’s book author Tonisha Fanchon is scheduled to release All The Preacher’s Wives – an anthology featuring 20 women sharing 20 stories about their life as a pastor’s wife. Ms. Fanchon is the hostess and coordinator for the anthology and celebration weekend. The book will describe the first ladies' low and high points.
In many ways, the life of a pastor’s wife is a mystery. Within preliminary interviews, Tonisha Fanchon discovered behind many of the quiet smiles of these women observed on Sunday mornings were everything from physical and psychological abuses to women of incredible power and vision. All The Preacher’s Wives is intended to expose the humanity of women who often find themselves living lives where there is no handbook or reference guide. Much of what is learned occurs while serving and after the nuptials.
Ms. Fanchon explains, “This is also a type of ministry that we hope will serve women who are considering a life of ministry or marrying a minister. We want this to be a guide for those women, not necessarily to influence but rather to equip them with information to make more intelligent, responsible, and informed life decisions. As with any other partnership, every life, wife, marriage, church, and experience are unique but there are certain consistencies: They have all been married and in ministry. Think of it as going to your favorite auntie to be advised except, in this case, you have 20.”
There are more than 200 denominations of Christianity in the United States today, and more than 45,000 globally, according to the Center for the Study of Global Christianity. In a report by Hartford Institute, it is estimated there are approximately 350,000 religious congregations in the United States alone. One can only imagine the number of married couples within this massive number of churches between bishops, head pastors, assistant pastors, and ministers of various departments. As great as this number may be, these marriages are connected to women who often cannot speak of normal life challenges to other members of the church or fellow pastors’ wives for fear of the rumor mill and the resulting lack of respect. So, in their feigned demure yet seemingly pleasant position, most err on the side of caution. Remaining quietly observant, they subtly take on personal life issues and frustrations alone or with their husbands (whenever he is not the frustration).
The irony in this group of remarkable, independent women is they are a sisterhood even though they may not be aware. Tonisha Fanchon is simply curating the otherwise obvious. By bringing these women together, she described the hope as this book and event being the beginning of a much greater movement of supportive and supporting women in ministry. Whether you preach or your role is the supporting pastor’s wife, you are a woman in ministry. All The Preacher’s Wives is written for you by women who have been or are currently in your position, your 20 “aunties.”
From November 11th through November 13th, the women contributors of All The Preacher’s Wives will be flying to Dallas, Texas to kick off the book release. For 3 days and 2 nights, Tonisha Fanchon will be hosting the All The Preacher’s Wives Weekend at a luxury estate located in Dallas, Texas. The women will enjoy gourmet chef-prepared meals, the online broadcasting of the group interview with all 20 former and existing pastors’ wives, and a shuttle service to The Potter’s House on Sunday where Bishop T. D. Jakes serves as the head pastor. Most importantly, Ms. Fanchon is providing a safe space for the women to network, fellowship, enjoy each other’s company, openly discuss their heart-felt and heart-aching lived experiences, and bond as sisters in ministry.
Tonisha Fanchon and her team are seeking pastors’ wives interested in sharing their stories. A few spots are still available. If you are a pastor’s wife and interested in sharing your story within the anthology, inquiries may be sent to fanchon@allthepreacherswives.com or visit www.allthepreacherswives.com for more information.
