Hendersonville, Tennessee May 9, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - Iron Gate Records is pleased to announce our artist nominations for the Josie Music Awards nominations. The JMA was formed to recognize the hard work and talent of Independent and Up & Coming music artists, songwriters, and indie-driven businesses in all genres. The Josie Music Awards is the largest, highly respected, privately owned, multi-genre award show offering the Coveted Josie Award also known as the “Josies”.
The JMA had 52,442 submissions this year and only 1.8% of those submissions received a nomination indicating the amount of talent considered and the rarified air for those who received nominations. The award ceremonies will be held on October 23rd at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.
Five of the talented Iron Gate Records artists were nominated a total of nine times. They are:
- Musician of the Year – Drums: Matt Skoda of the band SKODA
- Vocalist of the Year – Rock: Ethan Kress of the band SKODA
- Single of the Year – Southern Rock: Ivan Wentzel of The Wentzel Brothers Band for “In the Shadow of the Mountain”
- Single of the Year – Rock: Split Persona for “On Our Own”
- Duo/Group of the Year – Rock: SKODA
- Duo/Group of the Year – Americana: Boo Radley
- EP of the Year – Male: SKODA for their EP “Childhood Sanity”
- Song of the Year: Gina Jones – Artist & Writer and Trinity Wiseman co-writer for “You, Me & Her”
- Song of the Year: Michael Shawn Turner & J. Patricia Turner for "Sixty-Four Bright Colors"
